Technical lead managing two teams — devops and ingestion — across 8 engineers total. Led the transformation of video ingestion from an offline, script-based system with humans in the loop to a fully automated pipeline capable of ingesting thousands of gigabytes of video per day. The new system incorporated transcoding and vision-based processing to index video content and make it searchable at scale.

First hire, joining a solo founder. Designed and built the entire learning platform from scratch — architecture, infrastructure, and every customer-facing feature. Led a team of 3 engineers through the full product lifecycle, from initial launch to iterating on user feedback. Owned the technical roadmap and worked closely with founder on product direction.

Joined following the acquisition of Satsuma and led the technical integration of Satsuma's subgraph indexing product into Alchemy's developer platform. Worked on a range of data infrastructure projects — pipelines, indexing performance, and query optimization at scale. Collaborated closely with the design team to shape the developer-facing product experience.

Owned the entire customer-facing subgraph system end-to-end — design, implementation, and operations. Built the APIs and infrastructure that developers used to deploy, query, and monitor subgraphs. Contributed to highly technical backend work including custom indexing pipelines and performance-critical data processing.

Led the engineering effort to integrate Triplebyte's adaptive screening technology into Karat's interview platform, rebuilding it from the ground up. The system is a multiple-choice technical assessment that selects the next question based on prior answers — increasing question difficulty as candidates succeed and calibrating down when they struggle — to accurately determine skill level with fewer questions than traditional assessments.

Led a team of 9 engineers and drove the architecture of major product features across the platform. Took ownership of the adaptive screening technology — a core differentiator that dynamically adjusts assessment difficulty based on candidate responses — which later became the central focus of the acquisition by Karat. Involved in technical hiring decisions, cross-functional planning, and mentoring engineers at multiple levels.

First hire. Implemented large portions of the core product across the stack — data pipeline infrastructure, integration framework, and customer-facing dashboards. Built and maintained integrations with dozens of third-party marketing and analytics tools. Worked directly with early customers to scope requirements, debug issues, and iterate on the product. Had broad ownership of technical decisions in the company's formative stage.

First remote hire. Worked on the JavaScript snippet installed on every customer's website — the implementation of Heap's core autocapture technology. The central challenge was reliably capturing user data across the full spectrum of browsers: TV browsers, in-app webviews, and legacy environments as old as IE5/6. Built an in-house browser emulation system to accurately replicate the feature sets of these environments for testing. Developed a sophisticated automated rollout system that progressively delivered new snippet versions to increasing percentages of the customer base, with cohort targeting and automated rollback triggered by error rate spikes.

Joined during CircleUp's marketplace era and stayed through a significant strategic pivot into an algorithmic venture fund. Managed an offshore engineering team, coordinating across time zones to deliver on product and data infrastructure goals. Owned and scaled a large web scraping network used to track product distribution across retailers over time — a core data asset for the fund's investment thesis. Contributed to the data pipelines and analytical tooling that powered the algorithmic investment platform.
